I finally made it to downtown Ottawa today, after spending a couple of days at Dow’s Lake at anchor. Lots of good eateries just up from the pavilion with good dinghy access.
Tomorrow or Thursday I’ll get some provisions at the nearby Farm Boy, and descend the flight of locks to the Ottawa River. I’ve got a week to get down to Montreal, so am in no rush.
It’s been quiet on the water. Very little through traffic, and no other boats on the dock next to the Senate.
I’m excited about the next segment of the trip. I’ve been down to the Carrillon Lock, but haven’t been through Montreal before by boat. New territory is always a bit more interesting and challenging.
It is amazing and sad to see the docking walls empty. The only other time I have seen it like that was winter!
